Radar Navigation System NSC 18
NSC 18 to be discontinued
End of May 2007 Raytheon Anschütz GmbH will stop production of the NSC 18 Navigational Radar
and remove this item from the actual pricelist. The decision was taken due to the fact that sales of
this product have not reached the anticipated numbers.
Being a high end product that offers all capabilities of a full ARPA the NSC 18 had to compete in a
highly competitive market segment. Only in niche markets the product was successful. However, it
is not possible to counter finance future product upgrades and maintenance by only a limited
number of sales.
The discontinuation is well in line with Raytheon Anschütz’ strategy to focus on the high seas
market with Integrated Bridge Systems, packages and retrofits. The NSC 18 as a product for the
small size market does not fit into the overall product line.
The 10kW MTR with the 6ft Antenna will remain in our product catalogue as it is used for
applications together with NSC 25 and NSC 34.
The NSC 18 systems that are in the market will be supported. Spare parts are available until 2012.
Last quantities of the NSC 18 can be ordered until May 31st, 2007, for deliveries until the end of this
year.
