With its design and simple operation, the PilotStar D is especially conceived for small professional vessels as well as yachts.
For course control, gyro- and magnetic- or fluxgate compasses can be connected. Through automatic adaptation to the ship's speed, the control behavior of the PilotStar D is continuously optimized.
Course changes are carried out with selectable rate of turn. Course monitoring (set course/magnetic compass reference) and steering gear monitoring are integrated into the system; all control parameters are displayed continuously.
Two sets of parameters can be stored for different sailing conditions.
The simple operation of the equipment ensures safe navigation: the course is set via a turn knob, as well as membrane keys including dodge function.
